The Official Update!
Hey folks! In case you've been wondering what Michelle's been up to lately, here goes:

She's still up to about 5 foot 2.
She's been focussing less on gigging and working more on writing new material.
She's in love with her new guitar.
She's learning how to use her little home recording set-up.
She's planning to record & release a new CD in 2008.
She's looking forward to seeing you at a show sometime soon!

Michelle & Band Play NXNE
Michelle will be performing a showcase at this year's NXNE Music Festival on Thursday, June 8th @ 1 AM with her bandmates Ed Roman & Ilios Steryannis. See tour page for more details.

Michelle Plays Third Annual Toronto City Roots Festival

Michelle will be performing several tunes solo on Saturday June 24th, 4:15pm in the Distillery District. This show and the entire festival are FREE! See tour page.

Michelle Plays the Songwriter Central at C'est What
Hosted by award-winning singer-songwriter Andrea England, "Songwriter Central at C'est What" is Toronto's newest 'songwriter in the round' concert series. The latest installment of this event will take place on Tuesday, January 17th, 2006 @ C'est What and will feature Michelle, Rick Temporao, Kirsten Jones & a surprise guest. Hear the songs as they were written - and find out how they came about - in an inviting atmosphere complete with amazing food & top-notch wine.

Michelle's Music Video Debut!
Michelle's first music video for "Day Becomes Night" will be premiering on Canada's BRAVO! network on July 12th! The video was directed by the incredibly talented Luke Divers. You can tune in by watching BRAVO! Videos between 6-6:30pm E.S.T.

Michelle Performs NXNE Showcase
Michelle will be playing an official North By Northeast showcase at this year's festival which takes place June 9-11. She will be performing on Friday June 10th @ the Art Bar with her bassist Ed Roman. For more details, please see the Tour page.

Michelle Plays Third Annual Winterfolk Festival
Michelle will be performing a few different sets at this year's Winterfolk Festival which takes place February 4-6th @ various locations along the Danforth in Toronto. The event features 160 performances from folk, roots and blues musicians. See tour page for more details.

Michelle live on Chopper McKinnon's Canadian Spaces
Michelle can be heard live on radio on Saturday, November 27th on CKCU 93.1FM in the Ottawa area around 11am. She will be a guest on Chopper McKinnon's show, Canadian Spaces and will be performing and talking about her music. You can also tune into the broadcast live on the internet @ ckcufm.com.

Michelle performs @ OCFF Gala Dinner
Michelle will be performing at the Ontario Council of Folk Festival's Gala Dinner on Saturday, October 16, where she will receive the Songs From the Heart/CBC Galaxie Rising Star Award.

Michelle plays brand new Toronto Festival!
The first annual Toronto City Roots Song Celebration will be taking place over the Labour Day Weekend (Sept. 3-6th) @ the historic Distillery District. The festival features over 80 artists including headliners Sylvia Tyson, Fred Eaglesmith & Ashley MacIsaac. Michelle will be performing on Sat. Sept. 4th in the intimate Gibsone-Jessop Gallery. It's official - Michelle Rasky's an award-winning songwriter!
Michelle has just been named the winner of the Ontario Council of Folk Festivals (OCFF) 2004 Songs From the Heart/Galaxie Rising Star Award for her song, "Into the New"! In addition to winning $1000, Michelle will be performing at the upcoming OCFF Conference in October as well playing both next year's Guelph Songwriter's Festival and a future Bluebird North Showcase. Her song, "Into the New", will receive a month of heavy rotation on Galaxie's Folk/Roots Channel.

Maple Michelle!
"Your Love's Like Spring" is now available online @ MapleMusic! Click here to order now.

Michelle will be the monthly featured artist @ the Maple Lounge EVERY WEDNESDAY night in August, located upstairs @ the Rivoli Pool Hall! The evenings kick off @ 8pm with the Maple DJ spinning all Canadiana. The live music begins 10pm SHARP (no delays!), and will be followed by more home-spun CanCon and videos. The full Rivoli menu is available and there is NO COVER! Come on out for a great night & help support Canadian music.
